This vocation shop is two parts: welding shop in the back and woodshop up front.
To get any decent training in woodworking, metalworking, or any other trade in general, residents had to travel at least an hour or more to a city with vocation training. To alleviate this problem, and to educate aspiring workers in these trades, Gabi started the construction of a vocation shop in the town. He paid for a carpenter/furniture maker to train in Cape Haitien for two years, and that main is now employed by Gabriel to train three apprentices. He’s also paid for the training of a mechanic at Cape Haitien, and this man is now working for him.The shop is in need of a grinder, generator, any other power tools, and various welding and woodworking tools.
In addition to these trades, Gabi would like to add sewing, embroidery, electricity, masonry, and agriculture. The goat pen project currently underway is the first stage of the agriculture program.
